School Counselor's Corner

Please feel free to contact our school counselor, Mr. Laniear, at any time. Mr. Laniear teaches in all Lady’s Island Elementary classrooms and is available to support all of our students.

Please know that our counselor, Mr. Laniear, is here for families and students. He will be reaching out to you with lessons through Google Classroom and will be adding information here to support all of us as we stay united and strong to get through this challenging time.

Do not hesitate to email Mr. Laniear with any concerns or questions. Also, Mr. Laniear is available for teleconferencing through Zoom with students--as long as a parent/guardian is present. Mr. Laniear hopes that you find these resources helpful and that you please reach out to him for further assistance.

Mission Statement

The Guidance Department mission is to create a dynamic environment that goes beyond academics by infusing arts along with working collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, administrators and the overall community.

Vision Statement

Lady's Island Elementary (LIES) School Counseling Program is designed to maximize development of students in an environment that recognizes and nurtures students. There is a shared responsibility for the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students with an enhanced focus on arts integration. School Counselors are professional school advocates who provide support to maximize student potential in a safe nonjudgmental place for students to express feelings. The comprehensive school counseling program enhances students interpersonal skills and self- worth to encourage students to be successful learners, responsible citizens, and productive members of a global society by working collaboratively with parents, teachers, and the community to ensure that each student is successful.
