Arts-Infused Curriculum
Since 2000, Lady’s Island Elementary School has prepared students to be productive citizens of the twenty-first century by creating a child-centered, arts-integrated, standards-based learning environment.
Recognized by the South Carolina Arts Commission as an Arts in the Basic Curriculum school, Lady’s Island was the first arts-integrated school in Beaufort County. Over the years, our students have participated in over a dozen after-school arts clubs such as puppetry, hip hop dance, sculpting with clay, cup stacking, two award-winning choirs, and a garden club. Lady’s Island is a recipient of the SC Department of Education’s Distinguished Arts grant, which provides funding for artists in residence, art supplies, field trips, and additional training for staff members.
