Marvelle Ulmer

Mrs. Marvelle Ulmer has been the principal of Lady's Island Elementary since 2010.  As a lifelong learner, she is passionate about early literacy and the arts, believing that the arts impact not only students' academic needs, but their socioemotional well-being and sense of self.  In her 25+ years as an educator she has taught the elementary grades and was a Reading Recovery specialist, working one-on-one with struggling first graders who demonstrated extreme reading and writing needs.  Mrs. Ulmer is a native Beaufortonian and enjoys spending time with her husband and four children ages 3-17.  She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina.

Mr. Jason Osborne has been the Assistant Principal at Lady's Island Elementary School since 2015 and spent his 15+ year career in education as an elementary classroom teacher, STEM lab teacher, instructional coach, TAP master teacher, and International Baccalaureate curriculum coordinator.  His educational interests are growing and developing teachers professionally and the approaches to learning necessary for students to be inquirers instead of passive learners.  He is a member of the International Baccalaureate Educator Network, providing professional learning opportunities and collaborative support to IB World Schools across the nation whenever school is not in session.  In his free time he can be found with a toolbelt working on flipping a house, at the gym keeping healthy, or high in the sky in the right seat of an airplane.  He holds a B.A. in Elementary Education and M.A.T. in Middle Grades Education from Clemson University and M.Ed in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University.
